This year’s keynote speaker, Roxi Redd, RN, MSN, EdD, CNE, a Shasta College Nursing Professor will share on the “Culture of Safety- it starts with you!”

Dr. Roxi Redd has had a nursing career spanning 37 years and six states. Originally from the Bronx, New York, Roxi earned her BSN from City College of New York, her MSN from University of Phoenix, and Doctorate in Education from California Coast University. She is also certified as a Nurse Educator by the National League for Nursing. Roxi has worked in Med-Surg, Oncology, Critical Care, and Cardiac Rehab. She has also held positions in Management and Staff Development. She is currently on the Nursing Faculty team of the Associate Degree Nursing Program at Shasta College. Along with her long time colleague, Dr. Carel Mountain, Roxi co-created Sim Memorial Hospital, a unique simulation experience, and the Shasta College Preceptorship Program. She feels personally committed to helping experienced nurses learn to mentor novices, is passionate about nursing education, and loves teaching the next generation of nurses. Roxi believes in the use of humor and colorful stories when teaching to decrease student anxiety and enhance learning. Her goals as an educator are: (1) to encourage students to continue their education, so they can replace her one day, and (2) to promote collegiality among nurses at all levels of education and experience.

We are very excited to hear what Roxi has to say about Culture of Safety, and hope you will join us at the 10th Annual Nurse's Day Luncheon Symposium on Friday, May 6th!
