Richard Fletcher Named CEO of Shasta Regional Medical Center

Redding, CA., (June 9, 2017) - Richard Fletcher has been named as Shasta Regional Medical Center’s new CEO effective Monday, June 5. Fletcher will oversee all operations at Shasta Regional Medical Center and Shasta Regional Medical Groups located in Shasta and Siskiyou counties.


“Richard is a recognized leader with substantial experience in health system integration and healthcare management,” said Mike Sarian, President of Operations for Prime Healthcare Services. “He is well-versed in leading hospitals to significant quality achievements with expansion of services and facilities to improve healthcare for the community.”


Fletcher has more than 20 years of progressive healthcare leadership, with the last 14 years at Universal Health Services in Bradenton, Florida where he served as CEO of Lakewood Ranch Medical Center, COO of Manatee Memorial Hospital and Associate Administrator. During his tenure at Universal Health Services, Fletcher played a major role in the strategic planning and development to establish a multi-specialty integrated network with 60 providers, helped establish and expand a medical residency program, recruited more than 70 new physicians to the medical staff and expanded multiple service lines.

Born and raised in Bradenton, Florida, Fletcher earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of South Florida and obtained a Doctor of Pharmacy with Honors from the University of Florida. He was an active member of his community, serving on numerous local and state boards and belongs to the American College of Healthcare Executives and Florida Society of Health Systems Pharmacists. Richard and his wife, Karen, have three children, 8, 11 and 17. He enjoys his family, playing the guitar, boating, fishing, biking, basketball and being active in the community.
